Kidd rises to 2nd in NBA all-time assists in Dallas win

<div><p>Jason Kidd moved into second place on the NBA's all-time assists list while Jason Terry scored 27 points to lead the Dallas Mavericks past Houston 130-99.</p><p>Kidd passed off seven assists to reach 10,337 for his career, three ahead of Mark Jackson and now trailing only the NBA-record 15,806 of retired Utah star John Stockton.</p><p>The record-breaker came 67 seconds into the third quarter on an alley-oop pass that set up a slam dunk by Frenchman Rodrigue Beaubois.</p><p>German star Dirk Nowitzki scored 25 points and Tim Thomas contributed a season-high 23 points for Dallas, which won for the 14th time in the past 18 games against the Rockets.</p><p>Shawn Marion scored 12 points in 31 minutes in his return after missing three games with a left ankle sprain for the Mavericks, who hit 9-of-17 from 3-point range.</p><p>Carl Landry scored 24 points to lead the Rockets.</p><img src="http://admatch-syndication.mochila.com/images/ad.gif?aid=64262741&bid=informcom" /></div><div id="copyright"><div>
